A mini retreat offering the opportunity to be in relationship with a herd of seven gentle hearted horses within the beautiful realm of nature.

A circle of people and horses gather to learn about relationship, fear, courage, matters of the heart and care of the spirit.

What might it be like to take time for yourself, to find quiet moments in nature, to spend peaceful time alone or with other women, to join a herd of gentle hearted horses, to sit by a campfire or listen to the creek, to stretch your muscles climbing or nap underneath a tree, to write or draw, or to enjoy the simple luxury of slowing down and doing absolutely nothing. How might your life be different?

  • Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:30 am (women's group)

The intention of this strength based program is to build the capacity of veterans and their families to heal their wounds, find positive meaning in the present and move toward a well lived life. As we understand and face trauma better we understand our lives. By speaking and listening to one another with courage, care and compassion we can heal life wounds and manage difficult to treat disorders.

All sessions facilitated by a a veteran, a licensed social worker and/ or
psychologist a horse specialist and a herd of gentle hearted horses.

(Eight session group or two day format)

A group for survivors of abuse and other life trauma. The healing and well being discovered through compassion, courage and community.

Personal or Professional Retreats at Pebble Ledge Ranch

Pebble Ledge Ranch

Pebble Ledge Ranch is a wonderful choice for your individual, group or organizations retreat, seminar, or training program. Pebble Ledge Ranch is situated on eighty acres of private conservancy protected land and is surrounded by 500 acres of Geauga County Park forest, rookery and wetlands. The ranch is conveniently located within an hour drive of downtown Cleveland, Ohio the popular University Circle cultural center, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland Hopkins airport, while quietly nestled in the heart of the pastoral Great Western Reserve of northeast Ohio.

Several ecosystems thrive on this land. Rolling pasture and grass land, a mature woods, ancient hemlock forest, rocks and river invite, observation, hiking and exploration on Pebble Ledge Ranch. The beautiful Chagrin River borders the east boundary, the Canadian Glacier Rock Ledges filled with quartz pebbles border the south boundary, a primorial bog of birds and water creatures extends along the north boarder. Fox, deer, hawk and heron are among the wildlife that are often seen and make this their home.

Pebble Ledge Ranch has several structures including a pre civil war bank barn, a yurt (mongolian tent) a guest cottage and farm house which can be made available for activities and meeting space. The horse facility is home to a gentle herd of eight horses with a dry sand paddock work space and picturesque rolling pasture. WHY HORSES?
Horses respond to our behavioral patterns, providing us with honest and clear feedback about our current strengths and areas for improvement. Interactions with horses provides learning opportunities with immediate direct feedback relevant to skills critical to success in everyday life and work.

Horses lead us into new insights and reveal to us new ways of interacting with others and ourselves.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each of the five modules will provide essential theories, practical skills, relevant techniques, self awareness opportunities and practice facilitation with people and horses..

The program provides real time, action oriented experience to apply what you learn and to receive immediate feedback from the trainers, the group participants, and from the herd of horses.

You will practice in a real client sessions.

A professional educational, training and practitioner certification program for those interested in integrating and facilitating relational work with horses in their careers and personal lives.

The professional competencies you will develop as an Equine Guided Experiential Learning Practitioner can be applied in a variety of business, coaching, counseling and educational settings with broad range applications including working with individuals, families, groups, or organizations. This certification program is designed to prepare you in your work with people within the age spectrum of children to senior adults.

Horses change our lives. The relationship with horses challenges us to expand into our potential, to be authentic in our human relationships, to live a meaningful life and to contribute with choice to the well being of the world.
